The idea of unconventional use of the remaining piece of jumping plasticine came to my mind because after drying, it becomes similar to foam. So it turned out that it is quite possible to mold a phone stand out of clay, and here’s how to do it:

With the development of technologies, new materials emerge, which means new ways of implementing preconceived, well-known ideas.

What’s the point… Why make a phone holder by hand in the first place?:

Of course, it’s clear that various accessories for mobile phones are better, or most likely better, to simply buy at one of those trendy stores. After all, at first glance, a homemade phone stand like this doesn’t seem to withstand any criticism, or…

In short, from what seemed like a crazy idea at first, a neat concept, or rather a way of unconventional use of jumping clay, emerged. It was sitting on the table, and I knew it would dry out, but I didn’t want to leave it as a shapeless piece. So, I decided to try molding a phone stand out of it, and here’s what came out of it:

1 A cool snail-piglet, a phone stand.

A little bit about the materials and the fine art involved:

Jumping clay, also known as air-dry clay, is a cool alternative to regular clay that is made from clay, pigments, wax, or other additives by manufacturers. The difference is that it doesn’t stick to your hands, is easily washable, comes in a variety of colors and shades, and is readily available in most areas. You can even order it online without much difficulty. But! Its most important quality, at least for me, is that jumping clay hardens, transforming into a lightweight yet durable object.

Now let’s talk about the art of sculpting and creating figurines from clay – I don’t understand either of them, but as they say, “if you have golden hands, it doesn’t matter where they came from”:)

Let’s make a phone stand by hand using clay:

Side view of the finished stand.Oops, I got a little carried away talking… The process of creating a convenient, stylish, reliable, and ergonomic smartphone stand is quite simple and straightforward. You just need to take a piece of air-dry clay, mold it with your not-so-nimble hands, and shape it into something similar to what is shown in the illustrations.

3 Awesome gadget, top view.

For the sake of illustrating the example and for everyone’s general understanding of the genius of this engineering-technical super substance, embodying the principle of ‘genius is simplicity,’ I have also sketched a side view of the stand’s design (the red part represents the stand, and the blue part represents your smartphone). Since everyone has different phones, you’ll have to adjust the proportions yourself, but I’m confident that you can handle it!

4 Sketch of my famous sculpture.

In short, after the creative impulse subsided, or rather, when I regained my sanity… I placed my piece of artistic creation on the windowsill to let it harden. Late in the evening, when my sanity returned, I realized that it actually works! I could really watch videos on my phone using it.

P.S.: So let’s summarize! If you need a phone stand, now that you know the described method and have a sufficient amount of this innovative nanomaterial, you can create a convenient and quite reliable item quickly and easily, by hand, in the comfort of your own home, without even stepping out to buy a new phone stand. Good luck with that!))
